Thinking of going to University?
Below are some websites which you will find really useful for:
- Researching the types of courses available for you to study at university
- Understanding the entry requirements needed to get on to different courses
- How people pay for university
- The average salary you can earn after studying different courses
Aspire: https://aspire.upreach.org.uk/
This website helps you to understand why you should put lots of thought into the university you go to, based on what you are hoping to achieve by studying a degree or further education course. It includes comparisons of typical earnings for each course, but also how this might change depending on where you decide to study that specific course.
DiscoverUni: https://discoveruni.gov.uk/
This is another good website which allows you to compare average salaries after 3 years and 5 years, based on the course you study and where you study it. It also gives you student views on how they felt about the courses they studied and the places they studied at. There is a 2 minute video on the home page. showing you how to use the website.
UCAS: https://www.ucas.com/
You will be familiar with this website through your careers lessons at school. This is the website you use to search for and apply to the courses you are interested in studying. It also provides information on different careers and how you can access these, both through university/ higher education, but also through colleges and other training providers/ further education, if you don't fancy going to university.
