Mobile Phone Policy and Procedures
Our Mobile Phone Policy can be located on the 'Policies' page of the website, here: https://www.benjaminbritten.school/Information/Policies
Arrangements local to our school:
The statutory guidance on mobile phones in schools allows for some children to use a mobile phone in specific, limited circumstances where this is necessary and authorised by the school, such as to support a medical need, disability, safeguarding concern, or other exceptional circumstance. Where this applies to one of our children, this arrangement will be undertaken in consultation with the child, the child's parents, their year team and their teachers.
At Benjamin Britten School, we also allow children to use mobile phones for taking images in art and photography lessons.
Outside of the above circumstances, if a child brings their mobile phone to school, they should ensure it is handed in to their tutor during registration, who will pass it on to the relevant year team, for secure storage, until the end of the school day.
